G’Day, Folks. Been a while since I wrote my article and thought I would jot down a few lines. Here we are again in November; the bleakest month of the year. I remember as a kid, it was too cold for swimming and no snow for skiing. The fall transition is a morale breaker. Reminds me of puberty. Kids reach the age of about 13 and they start to change physically, emotionally and psychologically. It is the “dumbest” time in anyone’s life because they don’t seem to fit anywhere; they are not children anymore, but they are not adults either. A lot of teens make decisions which have lifelong consequences which often turn out to be catastrophic. The old adage, “It seemed like a good idea at the time” should be the motto of every teenager in the world. Make the t-shirts, and banners.
I remember once when I was 16 or so, I had a car and wanted to freak out my buddy. I pretended to take off without him (I was his ride home) and so he jumped onto the back of my car, I kept moving…faster…he was thumping on the back window of my car, which only caused me to go faster. THUMP THUMP THUMP! Up goes the speed (60-70 mph). I finally stopped and let him in, and we proceeded, but it wasn’t until the next day at school when relating the story to our buddies, that I realized how dreadful it would have been if it had gone wrong. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Many people, when confronted with their own mortality, do what seems right at the time. They trust in their religion to save them from the judgment of God and get them t heaven. Others live a healthy life postponing death as long as possible never considering the Bible verse that says, “And as it is appointed upon man once to die, but after this, the judgment” (Heb. 9:27). Death comes to us all no matter how healthy we are or how good our intentions. The judgment of God, however can be averted, and that is the point to this article. If you will turn to God with your heart, and believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day, you will miss the judgment and God will take you to heaven when you die.
How about it?
‘Til next time Folks…
