A VOICE OF THE NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO WILDERNESS
For the past 18 years my family and I have been in Ignace where we started Redemption Baptist Church.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
STATEMENT OF FAITH FOR REDEMPTION BAPTIST CHURCH OF IGNACE, ONTARIO, CANADA
PREAMBLE:
Because of the fact that believing something doesn’t validate it, we will shun the common practice of listing what “we believe.” There are, however, many precious truths that we happen to KNOW.
STATEMENT
We know:
1. The absolute, Final Authority in all matters of faith and practice, is the King James Bible (any edition). (Ps. 12:6-7)
2. The Godhead (commonly called the Trinity) consists of The Father (Jehovah), The Son (The Word; JESUS), and The Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7). Each and all of the Godhead are in fact God.
3.The doctrinal approach to the scriptures is first and chiefly that of the moderate dispensationalist. (2Tim 2:15). “Every verse of the Bible is for you, but not every verse is TO you.” The doctrine for this present age is found in the Book of Romans to Philemon. Any verse in the Bible which lines up with these Pauline books can be used as doctrine for the Christian.
4.Salvation is by grace through faith in the gospel. (Eph 2:8-9) (1 Cor. 15:1-4). In other words salvation is repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. The sinner must repent toward God of his own free will, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) to be saved.
5. This local church has no official earthly political affiliation.
6.The Lord will appear at any moment to take His Bride (The Church; all saved people) off of the earth to be with Him forever. (1Thess. 4:16-18). This is known as the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, as it precedes the time of Jacob’s Trouble or “The Tribulation.”
7.The Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth to rule and reign from the Throne in Jerusalem for 1 000 years immediately following the 7 year Tribulation.
8.The Sabbath is a sign to Israel and not for the Church. (Exodus 31:17)
9.The signs and wonders of the Book of Acts, and the Gospels; listed in Matt 10:1-8 and Mark 16:17-18 are signs unto the unbelieving Jew and are not for the church today.
10.The primary mandate of the church is for the fellowship, publication and distribution of the gospel of the grace of God.
11.The pastor of the church is the leader and as such, is accountable to God for the operation thereof. He is not there to coerce, bully, or invade the privacy of any. The pastor is to feed the flock of God. (1 Peter 5:1-4)
12.The local church is an independent, self governing entity void of any association, convention, government interference, or any other foreign oversight, excepting the laws of the land, under which all are subject. We also have no tax number; in this way, we stay out of the government’s business, and hopefully they will stay out of ours.
13.Baptism is the first of two church ordinances. It is by immersion in water and has no regenerative value whatsoever. Water Baptism is merely a picture of what has already taken place upon, and in the saint.
14.The Lord’s Table is the second of two church ordinances and consists of unleavened bread and new wine (non-alcoholic grape juice). The said elements offer no merit for salvation, neither do they contain any magical properties whatsoever. They are for remembrance of the Lord’s sacrifice on the Cross, and as such, are merely symbolic. (1 Cor 11:24-25).
15.The church is under no directive to keep any specific days as “holy days”, convocations, or man made pagan festivals. (Col. 2:16).
16.The church welcomes all religions, races, creeds and nationalities.Knowing this, however….we will, by the grace of God, preach and teach The Lord Jesus Christ.
These things are written so that anyone anywhere may know where we stand. The individual doesn’t have to agree with any of it; just don’t expect us to change our minds to fit some other program. We will follow the Lord.
I hope to see you there.
Pastor Steve Dunk
Redemption Baptist Church
AMEN.
