I think many of us write ourselves off too early. People will consider themselves too old or over the hill at 30. Lets start there.
After 30….
1.Jesus of Nazareth began His earthly ministry.
2. A man in Ancient Sparta was finally considered a man.
3. Cassius Clay (aka Muhammad Ali aka The Greatest) regained his world title from Leon Spinks at 36. (This is old for a speed boxer).
4. Strength peaks among strength athletes in this decade.
After 40….
1.George Foreman returned to boxing and became world champion in his mid-forties. He also invented the Grill after his own name.
2. Ken Lain broke the World Bench Press record at 42.
3. Zydrunas Savickas continues to amaze strongman fans all over the world.
After 50….
1. Handel, who by the accounts of many, appeared to be “all washed up” in his late 50s, sequestered himself away in isolation and composed one of the greatest pieces of music ever written: Handel’s Messiah.
2. Odd Haugen competed in the World’s Strongest Man at the age of 56.
3.Louie Simmons, after twice breaking his back, developed the reverse hyper machine, and was able to compete again, getting over 900 lbs in the squat at age 52.

After 90….
1.Lew Hollander is a world champion triathlete, still training at 92. See video:
2. Jack Lalanne dies at 96 of pneumonia. He trained the day that he died.
After 100….
1.Fauja Singh was still running marathons at the age of 104.
After working as a paramedic….
One of the saddest things I saw over and over was people of almost every age who, for whatever reason, had given up the fight and sat down….then laid down….then….well it only gets worse from there. The old saying, “Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt….” is not true. Stop moving and you stop living.
SO…..YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD FOR THE GOLD.
